Force feedback
Nanotechent.com sells a nudge card that attaches to your PC via USB for around $100.
Make sure it is installed correctly, and for the Nanotech unit, face the USB part of the chip towards the back of the cabinet. You should also make sure you run the calibration tools whenever you move your cabinet or change the leg levelers.
First of all be sure that
1. Visual Pinball
2. B2s Backglas
Are running fine. Now delete all of your older DOF installations
Create a folder direct on your C drive C:\DirectOutput
Inside this folder you put all files you download here:
http://pinball.weilenmann.net/DirectOutput_R3Beta2_Build_5818.37242.zip
Now right click on the Folder with the right mouse and create a shortcut.
Rename „DirectOutput - shortcut” to „DirectOutput“
Create a Folder called Plugins inside your Tables Folder. (C:visualpinball/tables/Plugins)
Place the „DirectOutput“ shortcut into the Plugins folder.
(C:visualpinball/tables/Plugins/shortcut)
Now go backt to the „DirectOutput“ folder and right click on RegisterDirectOutputcomObject as an admin.
You will get a Popup notice Comobject is now registered.
Now you have to set the right COM Port for your Control Board.
Open the Cabinet.XML and search for <ComPort>COM17</ComPort>
And change it to the Port which you are using.
Save and exit.
Now you have to activate the Plugins in the B2s.
Here you go in the table folder and search B2sTablesettings.xml
Open it and search for: <ArePluginsOn>0</ArePluginsOn>
And change the 0 to a 1
Last but not least you need the right configuration from the configtool.
http://configtool.vpuniverse.com
Go under MY ACCOUNTS and check which device you are using
Now go to Port assignments
And set the Ports in the configtool just like you wired your board.
Example:
1. You wired solenoid 1 to port 1
2. So port 1 in configtool is a solenoid
If you are done click on save config and then generate config.
Unzip the downloaded file and place it in:
C:\DirectOutput\config be sure you overwrite the old files.
DOF should now work fine
Here is a Video how i did that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MjDalStdbPo&t=25s

Flipper feedback – Contactors
Contactors are basically just a relay with a larger coil and higher rated contacts. They are normally used for controlling 3 phase mains power for things like roller doors, large motors on machinery, etc, but we just want the nice ‘thump’ they produce when the coil is energized and the contacts pull in. The most recommend one for our use is the Siemens contactors with a 12 volt dc coil available again at wolfsoft or an electrical wholesaler, but basically any contactor with a 12 volt DC coil will do the trick. I am going to be using the CA7 Sprecher + Schuh for personal preference and they are just plain cheaper in Australia.
